Hi, I’m Guy Millward.
I first picked up a banjo at 21 after seeing Steve Martin play clawhammer in a video. I had no idea what I was doing, so I taught myself by ear, rewinding the same few seconds until my hands got it.
One tune led to another, and here we are. Fifteen years on, I've added Irish bouzouki and tenor guitar to the banjo, and I'm still learning all the time.
Outside folk music I have a long-standing obsession with atmospheric jungle. If that's your thing you can find it over at @EnochAtmospherics on YouTube.
Almost everything I know came from people being generous enough to share what they know online. This site and accompanying YouTube channel is my attempt to do the same.
If you're somewhere along this road, whether just starting out or playing for years, I hope something here is useful.
Thanks for stopping by.
